Why do We Refuse to Understand and Engage it?
The West has labeled radical Islam as a source of terror since some of the more extremist groups have targeted their interests. It is understandable that it is being seen as an enemy that has to be defeated at any human and economic cost and that Western leaders have united in this purpose. What is not that understandable is that these same leaders have not tried to understand why these groups are flurishing and quickly dismiss any arguments given to them as demagogic, extremist, and unacceptable. The fact is that may of the arguments that the organizations provide resonate with a large share of the 1.3 billion Muslim and even with people from other believes.
